TRAINING
Sound Mind Matters offers structured training and workshops for psychological counsellors working in schools, colleges, and institutions — along with a wider range of programs for the people around them, drawing on Alok Benjamin's experience training counsellors with the Women & Child Development Department and conducting capacity-building programs for the Police Department.
Training for Institutional Counsellors
Refresher and advanced training for counsellors already working in schools, colleges, and institutions — covering crisis response protocols, case documentation, confidentiality practices, and working effectively with parents and school leadership on sensitive cases.
Training for Teachers & Educators
Equipping teachers to recognise early signs of distress in students, manage classroom behaviour without escalation, and manage their own stress and burnout — because teachers are often the first to notice a struggling student, but rarely trained to respond.
Life Skills Workshops for Students
Direct-to-student sessions on exam stress and performance anxiety, emotional intelligence, peer relationships, and digital wellbeing — complementing our Student Counselling services with proactive, preventive skill-building.
Parent Workshops
Helping parents understand adolescent behaviour, recognise red flags at home, and build a supportive home environment alongside the support students receive at school.
Suicide Prevention & Crisis Response (Gatekeeper Training)
Training staff to recognise and appropriately respond to at-risk students, and to build clear referral pathways within the institution — informed by direct experience training counsellors for the Women & Child Development Department.
Gender Sensitisation & Safeguarding Training
POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) training, gender sensitisation workshops, and child protection training for institutions — extending our work with the Women & Child Development Department and Police Department into a structured offering for schools, colleges, and organisations.
Workplace & Staff Wellbeing Workshops
Employee wellbeing sessions, manager training on supporting struggling employees, and workplace communication workshops — for institutions looking to extend support beyond students to their own staff.
Train-the-Trainer Programs
For larger institutions building internal training capacity — equipping senior counsellors and staff to train and mentor their own teams going forward.
