INTERNSHIP

Sound Mind Matters offers structured internship placements for students pursuing psychology and social work programs at institutions across Gwalior — including Amity University, Jiwaji University, and affiliated government and private colleges — as well as students enrolled through IGNOU and other distance/open-learning universities. Depending on your course, here's how we support your training:

B.A. / B.Sc. Psychology (Undergraduate)
Foundational, supervised exposure to real counselling settings — observation of sessions, basic case documentation, and guided interaction under close mentorship, helping undergraduate students fulfil their program's internship requirements while building a genuine first understanding of clinical practice.

M.A. / M.Sc. Clinical & Counselling Psychology
Hands-on exposure to real counselling sessions, case documentation, and psychological assessment under direct supervision — helping you fulfil your program's practicum and summer internship requirements while building genuine client-facing experience.

MSW / M.A. Extension Education & Social Work
Practical training in community-facing counselling, guidance, and psychosocial support — drawing on our work with the Women & Child Development Department, Police Department, and IJM to give you field-level experience beyond the classroom.

PG Diplomas & Certificate Courses (Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Child Psychology, and related programs, including IGNOU's PG Diploma in Guidance & Counselling and similar distance-learning qualifications)
A focused, mentorship-driven internship to translate your coursework into applied skills — including observation of live sessions, guided practice, and structured feedback to prepare you for independent practice.

All interns work directly under Alok Benjamin, with 27+ years of experience and 5,000+ sessions, gaining supervised, real-world training rather than passive observation alone — with additional support in preparing internship reports and case files, and guidance ahead of your viva voce to help you present your work with confidence.
